For the past two years, on January 1st, I’ve chosen a word to carry me through the year. For 2026 I had some help from Merriam – Webster. They ran a gif on their socials with a series of rapidly changing words. The idea is to pause it and whichever word you land on is your word for the year.
This is mine:

Thankfully this is who I am, a kind-hearted, caring, and loving individual who only wants the very best for everyone.
Unfortunately, these days, I am finding it hard to associate with people who aren’t displaying this kind of behavior or not denouncing the people in our world who are clearly the opposite of said behavior.
I will say it is a case by case basis because the elderly lady across the street is the sweetest, kindest, most loving woman I have ever met and yet she thinks the current President of the United States is a man of God. But she also once believed, a caller, was the sheriff’s office requesting she pay her IRS taxes with a credit card over the phone. So …
Whatever the case, I will continue as a kind-hearted individual and try to remind myself to have patience with those who don’t see things the way I do.
Wishing you and yours the 2026 year be filled with love, light, laughter, and prosperity!
