I keep stumbling across these pieces by Michel Haillard in my quest to find new trend setting designs. My first thought – What were they thinking? – was confronted with my curiosity and because my curiosity ALWAYS wins I was compelled to delve deeper into the mind of this designer. I had to know where he was coming from. It surprised me. The answer might surprise you too.

Faux Bois – French for “fake wood” – is an imitation of wood grains. Most popular between the late 19 Century and the 1940’s, it seems to be making it’s return in the form of nontraditional colors and unconventional items.
