A lot has happened in the past few weeks! We made a lot of decisions because we had to choose a countertop, tile for the floor, a sink, a faucet, and a style for the cabinets.

I cannot believe all the decisions involved! And things people who don’t do this every day would EVER think of in a million years.

Let’s take the sink for example; do you want a farmhouse sink or not, one bowl or two bowls, a top mount or undermount, a center drain or offset drain, stainless steel or a white sink, and if you choose a white sink, do you want quartz, cast iron, porcelain, etc. Wow!

That all being said, there is some fun to it but I think it would be a lot more fun if I had unlimited funds. Unfortunately, knowing this will be the only time we do this, it is a bit overwhelming.

Here is where we are in the process:

I’m thinking of doing a big reveal so I’m hesitant to share more pictures. And, it seems some of the people I’ve told I want to do a big reveal actually read this blog, but don’t ever tell me they read this blog. Besides, by this time next month we should be close to being done with the kitchen!

This is quite the process and I have learned a ton and made a lot of notes. I am hoping to share my experience and information so others have as much as they can to be prepared for this process.

Stay tuned!

Happy 4th of July!

I can’t think of a year in my life that I have felt about the fourth of July the way I do today. So much has happened in our nation recently that has me take notice of how wonderful this country really is. And if some of what happened here in America, happened in other countries those countries may not have been able to withstand it. Thankful for America and our intelligence agencies hard at work protecting us!

Personally, this past month was eventful in that I found an injured baby bird early one evening. I tracked down a wildlife center, but they were closed and not open until 8am the next day. Saddened to say my story didn’t have a happy ending like those Dodo videos. But it was a remarkable experience and I hope one day I get the chance to redeem myself with the bird nation.

Last night we received, what I believe to be the final plans for our new kitchen. Thankful for all my reading, watching, listening, saving, pinning, etc., because it really helped in the design of it all. At this point, I couldn’t be more thrilled!

Have a wonderful and safe holiday 🇺🇲

In just a few more weeks High Point Market will be here and social media will be filled with some of the most gorgeous, luxurious home furnishings – it will be like a show in itself on social media! I love seeing what the designers are bringing to market. There are so many different designs of colors, textures and lighting!

I don’t get to make it to High Point Market because I have work here that needs my attention. However, some of that work is in the interior design industry so I am always present on social media during market to help promote, cheer on and drool over all the beautiful designs.

So visit and follow me on Twitter and I’ll be happy to tweet your designs into the #HPMkt stream! I hope to see you out there!

If you love interior design then you know about High Point Market. It is the largest furnishings trade show twice a year. It’s a world of color, texture, lighting and designs that make me glow inside! For this gal, not a designer by trade but still the designer of our home, I love to see what’s in store for the coming year!

Spring Market

So if you are an HGTV enthusiast and like anything having to do with interior design and real estate, like myself, then visit #HPMkt on social media April 16th through April 20th and see the upcoming designs and fashions in home furnishings. Hope to see you there!
