It’s September! And considering it is now September 17th, I think it is safe to say I am late with this blog post.

The last few months have been such a ride with the state of the world and everything that goes along with it. That being said, I feel this may be part of the reason I avoid writing here.

There is so much coming out of the news cycle these days and in everything I have read and learned there is A LOT of corruption. Unfortunately, it is hard for me to keep quiet online when I see lying, cheating and blatant criminality. So I speak out and these days speaking out against corruption gets a whole slew of opposing opinions to come after you. However, I have learned that a lot of this opposition is the product of agencies working for the criminals. Isn’t that something? The criminals are paying agencies to employ teams of accounts to silence us so they can get away with their criminality. Let that sink in.

And isn’t that the point, to silence those who are speaking out? Because God forbid anyone say anything bad about a certain someone or a certain political party, even if it’s true!! It is really mind blowing 🤯 I won’t stop speaking up, but it does keep me from sharing more of what’s going on in my life.

That aside, we are moving forward with our kitchen remodel and it is really coming along. I couldn’t be more thrilled! I will say all these choices and decisions are much more daunting than I could have ever imagined.

Here is where we are in the process. We are now awaiting the arrival of windows. Yay!

On the other hand, the better hand, I am not complaining and grateful we have the ability to make this happen, especially with what is going on in our world today.

Well, well, here we are, the beginning of August.

A couple of weeks ago our refrigerator decided to bite the dust. I must say a bit upsetting considering we bought it only 4 years ago. It happened just as we began plans for a new kitchen and knowing we would need a whole new appliance package. We got it looked at and were told it was the thermostat, but if we unplugged it for 24 hours the motherboard would reboot and give us a couple days. Since when do refrigerators have motherboards?

So we spent the last 3 weeks unplugging it, waiting 24 hours, plugging it back in, using it for 4 days only to unplug again and start the process all over. What a drag. However, we dont have to do that anymore because now our kitchen looks like this…

Which means we actually did it! We are renovating our kitchen! And can I just say, it’s only been 2 days and it is already quite the surreal experience.

On that note, I’m so glad I have this space to keep track of what’s going on in my life!

Fourth of July

Happy 4th of July!

I can’t think of a year in my life that I have felt about the fourth of July the way I do today. So much has happened in our nation recently that has me take notice of how wonderful this country really is. And if some of what happened here in America, happened in other countries those countries may not have been able to withstand it. Thankful for America and our intelligence agencies hard at work protecting us!

Personally, this past month was eventful in that I found an injured baby bird early one evening. I tracked down a wildlife center, but they were closed and not open until 8am the next day. Saddened to say my story didn’t have a happy ending like those Dodo videos. But it was a remarkable experience and I hope one day I get the chance to redeem myself with the bird nation.

Last night we received, what I believe to be the final plans for our new kitchen. Thankful for all my reading, watching, listening, saving, pinning, etc., because it really helped in the design of it all. At this point, I couldn’t be more thrilled!

Not the First of June

Here we are, the beginning of June.

Wow, hard to believe it’s June 2021. Considering the past 18 months, it is good to be here.

My inspiration quest has been moving right along. To inspire me even more, at the start of the year my aunt began discovering random hearts along her walks and sharing them with me.

And her being from San Francisco, she introduced me to Kate Tova, an artist in San Francisco who creates “Street Hearts.”

All these hearts randomly appearing made me even more hopeful and excited of what the coming days might bring.

Then, low and behold, I found a heart right in my very own front yard.

These hearts remind me of all the love in the world and even though sometimes it may be really hard to see, especially in the world we are in today, it’s still there.

This past month was filled with lots of other memorable moments like that basketball player son of mine doing really well, I’m so proud of him I could burst, and we started plans for a kitchen remodel. We are still in the beginning stages so we’ll see, but we’re here, yay! Now I’m curious where we’ll be in the kitchen process when it comes time to write a post next month. We shall see!

May The 4th Be With You

It’s May 4th. I’m late.

I can’t believe the days got away from me like that. Actually, I can believe it because I’m not the best with time, but I’m way better than I was and that’s progress.

I did have a bit of an awakening this past month. I joined a book club and realized the book I was reading was running a parallel to my life. Thankfully, I was reminded that I need to continue to focus on myself and my passions. Because in my current role as a mother and wife I can sometimes lose myself. And I’ve learned over the years that if I’m not happy with myself I’m not going to be happy with anyone else.

So, cheers to us moms and wives who are always in the cheering section for everyone else, let’s cheer on ourselves this month and every month on after!
