This table reminded me of a previous Wednesday post I did a few weeks back. Remember these chairs? I wondered if the table was from the same designer so off I went to do a little research and what I discovered was truly surprising.
Graft, is an architectural studio that likes to think outside the box! Inspiration for this table was none other than the iconic Marilyn Monroe picture in her windblown white dress. After more research on the website of Graft I fell in love with their philosophy. Also – whoever quotes Yoda is just plain cool!
“You must unlearn what you have learned.” – Yoda

Known for constantly pushing the boundaries of textiles and design, Danish manufacturer, Kvadrat shows this pixel couch by Barcelona designer Cristian Zuzunaga. It is definitely unique and takes a bit of getting used to, but when taking a closer look you begin warming up to this eclectic piece of furniture.
“For Cristian Zuzunaga, the pixel is ‘the icon of our time’: pixels play a huge role in contemporary living and, in doing so, have helped to mold a whole generation. From video games, to TV, to digital photography, these virtually invisible – and indivisible – squares often define our experience of the world.”

The green in this chair jumped out at me while cruising the web as this was a trending color at Fall 2012 High Point Market. Then, when what to my wandering eyes would appear – a trunk as the crux of this ingenious seating.
This of course made the wheels in my mind start turning and ticking so off I went searching for the creator of this interesting seating.
Katie Thompson is a designer from South Africa. She uses discarded pieces to make furniture, lighting, and interior accessories. These designs are unique, one-of-a-kind, and truly vintage. Even better, you can request a made-to-order piece. I already have something in mind and am thinking of contacting her for my very own work of art.

Found this whilst strolling the web. I’m not sure why they would paint a wine bottle on this pillar although the fact that there is, what looks like, a mural of a bridge on their wall it seems to oddly make sense.
Don’t ask me why.
