Luckily there are many places you can go to see all the new, beautiful and innovative pieces from talented and inspiring designers. One of them is High Point Market. High Point Market is located in High Point, North Carolina and is one of the biggest shows in home furnishings and decorating.

Unfortunately, some of us interior design lovers, like me, don’t make it to High Point, North Carolina for the show, but thanks to the awesome people at High Point Market Authority they make it easy for us to catch some of the excitement!

Simply follow along on Twitter with their hashtag #HPMkt and you will find the stream fill up with gorgeous pictures of all the new presentations at market. Even better, many patrons are snapping pictures and creating images posting them to Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest for us at home to see.

To make it even more fun, High Point Market enlists the help of Style Spotters. These designers, interior decorators, fashion icons and bloggers get the pleasure of spotting their favorite designs and posting them on Pinterest. It’s fun, inviting and the partnering with Pinterest keeps the images of all the Style Spotters in one space.

Join me and let’s gush together – Hope to see you at #HPMkt!

Missoni

Remember back, a while ago, it was unheard of to combine stripes with floral?

These days, it’s not so much of a no-no. Coming out of Missoni, which is known for lots of colors in a variety of patterns, is this presentation of mixing and matching all these colors in different patterns, but on the same furniture piece. Kind of like patchwork, although don’t for a second let a novice patchwork piece fool you because if you look close you can tell the difference. You will begin to recognize which products are simply made by random pieces of fabric patched together and which are carefully designed with patterns, lines of the patterns, and colors specifically selected to be included in one piece.

While cruising the world wide web I stumbled upon the video below by Roche Bobois and I came upon the realization for the need to break out of a safer mold and present these vibrant colors that sock a punch. This video is a revelation of what they are thinking, which is a perfect explanation to me.

What do YOU think? Are you loving all the colors?

In the December issue of Architectual Digest Brad Pitt debuts his furniture design. Now – for the record – there is no doubt Mr. Pitt knows what he’s doing when it comes to design and architecture due in part to his largely successful and very awesome Make It Right foundation. He is a man with a lot of ideas, dreams, and money and that combination is likely to make anyone a success.

However, when it comes to furniture design it might be a different story. Is this furniture design or is it furniture art? I think it’s furniture art design. It’s more like art, in that it’s kind of like a sculpture. Especially, given the fact that each piece is a limited edition and signed by Pitt and Pollaro.

There are so many “Home Collections” on the market these days and for a bit it was starting to get on my nerves. Then, one day recently while strolling the new issue of Elle Decor, I came across the below ad for Lacoste Home. Although I don’t consider myself the preppy kind of gal, I could feel myself getting drawn into the print and colors. I began to see the allure in what Lacoste was putting out there and decided to check out what else they had.

Turns out they are offering quite a bit and I kinda like some of it –

What do you think? Lacoste Home – Love it, like it or hate it?

Shelley Gorman and SKG Designs received the Las Vegas Design Center – 2012 Design of the Year Award for their project ‘The Pavilion’ and it is a must see. Included in that project was one of my favorite chairs from Nathan Anthony Furniture – The Baci Chair. I’ve always loved the look of the chair, but yesterday at the factory I sat in it and… let me just say, Holy Moly! It was more comfortable than I would have every dreamed! It was incredibly yummy!

Stiletto and Custom width Baci Chair – Pavilion Lounge

Congratulations Shelley Gorman and SKG Designs!
